Our Story
Since 1908, Stark Company Realtors has been a family-owned brokerage. As one of the longest tenured and largest real estate companies in Southern Wisconsin, Stark has a rich heritage and a respected name. With offices throughout Dane County, Stark remains deeply involved in the growth of Madison and its surrounding communities.
Beginning in 1925, when Paul Stark collaborated with Michael Olbrich to help conceive and organize the UW Arboretum, a tradition of service and leadership has been at the heart of Stark’s legacy. In the 1930s, Paul founded the Community Chest—later known as United Way—and played a key role in establishing the YMCA in Madison. Decades later, his grandson David Stark carried that tradition forward, serving as Chairman of the Board at United Way and the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, as well as on the board of the Madison Community Foundation. Today, Stark continues this commitment by supporting organizations such as United Way of Dane County, Own It: Building Black Wealth, and the Ronald McDonald House, always guided by Paul E. Stark’s belief that “A community isn’t built one house at a time, but rather one handshake at a time.” We still believe that. We still operate that way. It’s tradition. A family tradition.
